Just For Fun (or is it?)
The above title is a new acronym I've created for the maddening dark world I have found myself in.
I'm talking about hyperlink addiction ...
Obsessive Hyperlink Disorder
The Beginnings
I can't remember a time that I've read a newspaper article, magazine or book without some sentence tempting me to go seek more information on the topic at hand. It is usually prompted by the mention of another article, book, or person closely or randomly associated with the subject matter.
Knowing I could find out more, or maybe a different angle on the topic, became a distraction to my reading concentration...until, of course, I could go and find that other source and return after digesting it. But, ah ha! That doesn't really cut it, for you see, the new research would have within it leads to other articles, books or people that would extend the trail of inquiry to other hunts, etc., etc....til ad nauseum...of course.
I wanted to write more, but can't resist following my own links embedded in this silly essay.
Perhaps you can add a little something to take us beyond just my beginnings and let me know if other readers are afflicted with this. Share some of your own adventures with me.
I need some links right about now...

Love it, it is so true!
Great observational humor ;-)
I have no idea what your talking about. Sounds like a very serious problem. If I'm not mistaken I have followed no more than 12 links since I was first on this comment page 15 minutes ago and wondered what bridget was talking about.
Hey I can quit any time I want :-)
